The randomizer is pretty broken, out of 1100 portraits it is the same 100 you will get. Have seen some over 7-8 times now. Yes the site is pretty addictive.
As has been noted above, a neiter button would be nice that would give -0.5 to both.
Also to be able to search for chars to see the current votes would be neat.

The randomizer seems pretty broken, had the same char show up three times in a row and have had several others show up twice in a row, not something that should be likely to happen with over 3000 portraits to pick from.

Some suggestions:
After each vote, change the "wins" and "losses" to "number of votes" and "rank".
Find a way get around the fact that really good looking and really ugly characters have more votes than the average ones that just get the F5 tratment. Maybe set it so the top 10% of the voted people only are avilable in the selection pool 10% of the time and so on?
Also a leaderboard that show the total top 5100 as well as top 10 in each bloodline would be great.

It is too easy to vote someone off the leaderboard, just do one lolvote and the person is gone.

One way to make the ranking a bit less spasmic would be to do it similar to the good old bubble sort algorithm:
The two portraits compared are ranked next to each other, if the lower ranked ones win they change places, if the higher one wins nothing happens. If you vote neither then the one ranked below both will be moved up.
You can still use the randomizer to pick which pair is compared but it won't have as much effect as it does now. Also new entrants should end up in the middle of the list and not start from the bottom.
The only drawback with this is that it can take a while for new stunning entries to reach the top, but why should they end up there in only 10 lucky votes to start with?

Same thing here, signed up my 3 chars. And 24h and counting up, still says No longer competing. They still waiting for approval or what?
It could be a case of 1500+ "applications" to approve, it will take time.

No, remember the days when picking a faction/bloodline actually had impact on your character's stats? Caldari achura was WIN, and Caldari achura male was ****ING ugly. And now they turned achura into asian's, so that's why you'll see allot of them. That's it, it's that simpel.
It could have been 95% Amarr/Amarr in the BoNE voting system but it would still be Achuras and Jin-Meis holding the top 50 positions as it is based on looks, not learning attributes.
Also according to the stats over at EVEboard it should be just as many Civre on the leaderboard as there are Achuras and hardly no Jin-Mei...

I'm fully aware of how freaking good their start attributes used to be as I have the 5th highest SP Achura and 2nd highest SP Jin-Mei on EVEboard. However that has nothing to do with how people vote in Babes of New Eden unless high SP = hotness...
